What is the Mental Health Mile?
The Mental Health Mile walk is a representation of the need for interaction between humans, the mindfulness around health and well being, and the connection with nature.
Created by a personal journey of a founding member having experienced loss and the devastating impact of suicide.
All people are welcome to walk, jog or run. Bring friends and family, dogs and children to take part and have fun.
The introduction of a Town Fields circuit (starting at the squash club on Bennetthorpe, DN2 6AA) allows for a central location, with the first poignant event, commencing on World Suicide Awareness day, 10 Sept.
What to do when you arrive
When you arrive at either the BDKS pavilion DN3 1HQ or the Squash Club DN2 6AA please find Anna who will log you in and issue you with a number card for safety purposes.
Anna will show you the route, but the choice is yours to walk a little further if you wish. For more of a challenge complete 2 or 3 laps!
Finish your walk back at the meeting point where Anna will log you as safely returned & before you go join The ME Project staff for a cupcake!
